Birthday girl: Joyce, ready to blow the candles of her birthday cake. |
“They are called special child not because of their disabilities, but because they make the lives of people around them special.”
-Iwitness
Last week, February 3, my only sister celebrated her 15th birthday. My sister, Joyce, is a special child. Her umbilical chord was wrapped on her neck when she’s still on my mother’s womb, that’s why the passage of oxygen in the brain was impeded, causing her disabilities today. She was diagnosed with mental retardation.
I think I’m her closest sibling. Though sometimes she always throws tantrums on me, and on my brothers, I consider her the sweetest sibling that I have.
She is our lucky charm, our only gem, our priced posession, our princess, and we love her so much!
