Facing 2011 with a Smile (review of my 2010)

“Sitback 2010, because I’ll be driving this year”

That was my status on facebook when 2009 was about to end. And here I am, writing my post-analysis of 2010. By the way, it’s New Year’s Eve now.

Hello Diploma

This year, I finished my Bachelor’s Degree. It’s been 4 long years of triumph since the day my diploma was handed to me. It was never easy for me to finish college, especially my last year, because of our thesis. I remember that last year of the same day, all I thought about was our lambasted thesis by our panelist. But now, not only I graduated; I graduated with pride and honor.

Also in this year, I have to bid goodbye to my best pals and memories which I’ve encountered in college. I must wake-up in the reality that I’m not a student anymore.

I also remembered the time that I felt more nervous than excited in facing the real world. I asked this question several times “So what’s next?”

:)

Hey, I graduated with flying colors :)

MY FIRST VENTURE

After graduation, I choose the nearest resort that I have. That’s to enter the booming Call Center Industry. I lived 3 blocks away from a Call Center Company, that’s why the convenience of it and the compensation made me decided to give it a shot.

That was May 5 when I applied, that was also Aika’s birthday. I’m with Bhej then, and after day-long application, viola, I got my first fulltime job.

The training was easy, I felt like a student again, but fear of intellectual growth struck me. That’s why I decided to resign.

All in all, that experience was something to remember, I’ve met wonderful people and somehow gave a glimpse of what is like out there in the real world.

MY REAL VENTURE

Luckily, a post for an English Teacher is open at a Technical School near our house. That’s why I tried it. I went in the institution to be interviewed, and then there it was, I got a new job.

I’ve been blogging this for so many times, that my first teaching job was hell. I’m not trained to be a teacher or something near that, that’s why it’s hard for me to do the things I’m not trained for.
Good thing the Administration offered me a post to become the institution’s Marketing Assistant, and I immediately accepted it.

The ambience in the office at first was really a chaos, there were two sides, the pro and con. I don’t know where to place myself. That’s the first time that I thought that mud slinging is very prevalent in the corporate world.

I also experienced this year my first meeting with our president, with matching a secretary making my coffee. That feeling was priceless J. With my job, I also had the chance to meet many people, go to other places, and organize events.

At the end of this year, we celebrated our Christmas Party. I don’t know if it’s destiny, but it happened that in our exchange gift, the opposing sides picked the name of each other, and in an instant, they reconciled. That’s one of the reasons why I will love to enter the office next year. No more issues, gossips and all that.

Meet my new world :)

Silver and Gold

“Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver, and the other is gold”

In this year, I finish college, meaning, it’s very rare for me and for my classmates to meet again because of our work. But then, I also met new people that became significant to me.

Here are the people who I really missed:
Tahkz.

The Saturdays

Aika: Though we meet each other regularly, there also comes a time that our schedules are both busy.

ABMC Batchmates

Fab Friends
Dorm Peeps

And here are the new people I met this year:
Wave27

Me, April and Jen

Sutherland Peeps

CPDFI Faculty and Staff

Kat and the rest of the gang :)
4-Alpha: My Advisory Class
Later this year, I met a friend who is older than me. He's Mark. I always serve as mentors to my friends because I'm authoritative and somehow maturely-thinking. But with him, I felt like I am a child again that also needs mentoring. He once regulated me on my smoking habit, which my friends have a hard-time doing, even my mom. I'm very thankful that I met such a friend like him. :-)

Good Memoirs

2010 was also a series of happy moments for me :

My status last year was indeed a prediction that came into life. This year was bountiful for me. I finish my studies, got my first job, and it was generous enough to make me meet new friends to treasure. I don’t know if 2011 will be the same or even better. But one thing is for sure, good or bad year to come this 2011, I’ll always have 2010 to look back for good memories. Happy New Year :)

The Destination: Enchanted Kingdom :)

It’s well-planned. I’m pertaining to my Christmas Getaway with Aika. Months ago, we’ve been excited as we plan to go to Enchanted Kingdom, an amusement park in Laguna (one hour from Manila).

At first, I thought it will not happen, because everytime I carefully plan for something, I don’t know why, but it won’t push trough, gladly, this one materialized. J

MISADVENTURE?

We met up in the bus terminal around 9:30am, my stomach feels terrible, so we rush to the closest fast food chain to fix my misery. A good start isn’t it?! Then we boarded the bus, unfortunately, the bus doesn’t have any available seats for two together, that’s why our seats were apart.

Upon arriving in Manila, we took our lunch then headed to the LRT station. This is third whammy, since it’s our first time to commute to the said amusement park, we don’t know exactly where to go, that’s why we somehow got lost.

AT LONG LONG LAST

After hours travel, not to mention misdirection, we’ve finally reached our destination. But upon arriving at the park, we wanted to back-out, go back to Manila and just go malling. The ticket booth and entrance are crowded, I mean really crowded. We and all of the people there thought that this day was the perfect day to go there, and surprise, it’s not. Haha
ticket: This is it!

Aika

Me :)

We don’t know were to start, people are everywhere, and every ride is bombarded with lines telling us “hey, you have to wait for one hour to ride”.

We first rode Anchors Away; I didn’t have any idea that it’s Aika’s first time to experience such a ride, that’s why I felt nervous for her. Haha
Blue Lemonade to quench our thirst while waiting :)

sip sip sip :)

How many more hours to wait?

Picture before the ride. She doesn't have any idea what she will be going through. Lol

Before our turn, we played pranks on those who are already in the ride, that why are they so over acting? But when we finish our turn, Aika swear to her self that she will not make fun of those over-acting passenger of any amusement park ride.hahaha

Next stop was the flying fiesta. It’s less exciting than anchors away but the movement of the line is quicker than any other ride, that’s why we pursued it.
weeeh!
last ride :)

Flying Fiesta! :)

After the Flying Fiesta, we decided to quit the rides and just play games. Then there we are, became addicted to the amusement park games, not noticing that we almost spent 300 pesos for a stuffed lobster.hahaha
Those are the Lobster i'm talking about.lol

When reality bites us back, we stopped playing, and then we go shopping. We bought the same shirt, saying: “Have a Great Time”. Did we really have a great time? Hahaha
Did we?hahahaha

HAPPY ENDING

Now it’s time to leave, honestly, we are quite disappointed with the size of the crowd, we could enjoyed it more if it’s not holiday when we went there.

We rode a shuttle from the park to Makati, then we boarded the tain from Makati to North Avenue. And then there it is, we pampered ourselves with our favorite food.

Charlie Chan Chicken Pasta:)

Chixken Barbecue Pizza :)

Best Photo.hahaha

Then we realized, it’s not the rides, nor the destination that can make our company more happy and exciting. It will only need of… HER, ME, YOW and NOTHING ELSE.
